One of the most romantic of all flowers is surely the sweet pea, a frilly bloom that grows in many lovely colors.
If you’re looking to add color diversity and fragrance (think orange-jasmine-honey scent) to your garden, the pea-like flowering annual is a great choice as they are relatively easy to grow.
Roger’s Gardens in Newport Beach is hosting World Class Sweet Peas Seminar with master horticulturist Steve Hampson on Saturday, January 26 from 9 to 10 a.m. The free lecture will cover topics such as seed sowing, soil preparation, insect and disease control, support systems and growing in containers.
So when you do successfully grow them, be sure to gather the flowers in the morning when the dew is still on them because this is when their scent is the sweetest 🙂
